Tenza is a municipality in the Colombian Department of
Boyacá, part of the the subregion of the Eastern Boyacá
Province. It was founded on 24 June 1537.
The flag of Tenza is horizontally divided green-white-red. It was
adopted on 13 December 1968 and was designed by Antonio María
Latorre.
Information in Spanish: "La Bandera de este Municipio fue
ideada por Monseñor Antonio María Latorre. Se hizo
por primera vez el 13 de diciembre de 1.968, con motivo del
Sesquicentenario de los mártires de Tenza.
La Bandera está dividida en tres (3) franjas iguales en forma
horizontal. Sus colores son verde, blanco y rojo.
El color verde representa los campos con sus cultivos, pastos y
árboles.
El color blanco significa la paz que reina y la tranquilidad que
posee la población.
El color rojo recuerda la sangre que derramaron los
mártires Tenzanos que ofrendaron la vida por la libertad".
