Monguí is a municipality in the Colombian Department of
Boyacá, part of the the subregion of the Sugamuxi Province. It
was founded on 4 April 1555.
The flag of Monguí is horizontally divided green-yellow with a
celeste triangle at the hoist. It was adopted by decree No, 006
of 27 February 2002 and was designed by Yasmith Yoleny Gutiérrez
Pedraza.
Information in Spanish:
"Aprobada mediante Acuerdo No. 006 del 27 de Febrero de
2.002. La autora de la bandera la niña Yasmith Yoleny Gutiérrez
Pedraza. describe que la bandera se conforma de tres (3) colores
asi:
Azul celeste: Simboliza que nuestro municipio se ha caracterizado
por ser un pueblo mariano. También significa el agua que tenemos
en nuestros páramos, ríos, tomas y quebradas.
Verde esmeralda: Es el color de los árboles, plantas y nuestro
hermoso páramo de Ocetá.
Amarillo Oro: Significa nuestra riqueza, tanto pasada como
presente, riqueza de nuestra gente, costumbres y valores que
posee cada habitante de Monguí.".
