Description of the flag

In December 1997, the municipality of Kraljevo, in central Serbia, adopted armorial achievments and a banner of arms. The author was Dr. Mijat Ivanovic, lawyer from Vienna, of Kraljevo descent, his designs were reviewed by the Serbian Heraldry Society.

The coat of arms can be blazoned as:

Gules seven open royal crown or 2+2+2+1.

The image of the banner of arms shown above was made according to Serbian Heraldry Society Gazette, January 1998.

Ivan Sarajcic, 27 April 1999

The name of the city Kraljevo might be tentatively translated into English as 'King's town', which is surely a reason for the use of crowns in the coat of arms.
