Flag adopted ?
Description of coat of arms: The shield is divided per fess. On the
chief are three silver (=white) crosses in a red field. The crossbars are
broader at their ends. On the base is a light blue, rampant, double queued
lion, red armed and red tongued surrounded by eight red hearts, all in
a silvery(=white) field.
Meaning: The blue lion is that one of Welfen dynasty, the former rulers
of the duchy of Lüneburg. About crosses and hearts I have no information.
Source: A black and white image is taken from the counties official
letter-head. The tinctures I spotted on a boundary post between Lüneburg
county and Uelzen county.
