The flag used by Interpol has a light blue background in the center of which
is a white disc containing the Interpol emblem in dark blue. In each corner of
the flag is a white flash. The significance of the emblem is as follows:
The scales stand for justice.
The globe shows world-wide activities.
The olive branches on either side of the globe serve as a reminder that the aim
of police action is to preserve peace in society.
Four flashes of lightning on the flag represent speed in police action and in
telecommunications.
