Harskamp village
Harskamp is famous in the Netherlands because of the military establishment
in this village in the municipality of Ede, Gelderland. Nearly every Dutch
family has someone who was passing some useful time over there, although
the village is most unknown.
However Mr. Anton Jansen discovered a CoA in some museums in The Hague,
entitled "Hars(c)(k)amp". He proved that this belonged to a family
Harskamp, which had been living in the Veluwe-region, where the present
village lies. He convinced the villagers that this was indeed their CoA,
and because it was relatively simple a flag was designed, which was exactly
the same as the image of the CoA; that was adopted in 1980.
CoA: in silver per saltire a red and blue cross (in Dutch: In zilver
Flag: white with a cross over the center, of which the arms have the
same width of 1/4 flagheight; somehow it is red and blue.
