Air force flag

[Air force flag of Sudan, according to Pedersen] by Mark Sensen, 22 June 1997

In Pedersen's book from 1980 there are several air force flags with roundels. All have the same pattern; light blue, the national flag in the canton, the air force roundel in the fly.

SUDANESE AIR FORCE
"Like many nations, the Sudanese Air Force Ensign seems to have been inspired by the British Royal Air Force Ensign. It follows the 'traditional' form of a light blue field with the national flag in the canton and the air force roundel in the fly."

[Former Aircraft Marking of Sudan] 1956-1969
by Zeljko Heimer, 24 January 2003

According to Album 2000 the aircraft marking is red-white-black roundel with a green segment. Since 1969, of course.

Zeljko Heimer, 24 january 2003

According to Cochrane & Elliot, Military Aircraft Insignia, 1998, the 1956 - 1969 aircraft marking was blue-yellow-green roundel. Square national tricolour of the period was used as the fin flash.

Silah Al Jaw Assudani was formed in 1956 and adopted a green-yellow-blue roundel based on the flag at the time with square vesion of the flag as fin flash. As the flag changed in 1969, the roundel was changed to the new pattern (green always towards the nose) with national flag as fin flash.
