About the flag
As the County of Halland had almost the same borders as the province of Halland, the same arms were granted to the county on 7 February 1941. The flag is a banner of the arms. No change was considered necessary to make when the municipality Hylte was transfered to the County of Halland in 1974, even though the largest part of Hylte is in Småland.
Elias Granqvist, 27 September 2000
Official blazon in Swedish: "I blått fält ett upprest lejon av silver med röd beväring, därest dylik skall komma till användning."
Blazoned in English: "Azure, a Lion rampant Argent langued, armed and dente Gules."
English blazon by Zeljko Heimer, 30 September 2000
