Equatorial Guinea's flag is made of three equal horizontal bands of green, white, and red (from top-down) with a blue isosceles triangle based on the hoist side. The coat of arms, which is centered in the white band, has six yellow six-pointed stars (represents the mainland and five offshore islands) over a gray shield bearing a silk-cotton tree and a scroll below with the motto UNIDAD, PAZ, JUSTICIA (Unity, Peace, Justice).

Located in western Africa, Equatorial Guinea borders the Bight of Biafra, between Cameroon and Gabon.
